Punta Ixtapa Villas

Punta Ixtapa is a beachfront residential development located to the north of Zihuatanejo Bay, and is recognized as one of the most environmentally conscious developments. It was awarded the Ecology Prize by the state of Guerrero in 1994.

Punta Ixtapa is placed on a peninsula in the Guerrero coast, surrounded by six beaches: Playa Don Rodrigo, Playa El Morro, Playa Cuatas, Playa Triste and Playa Quieta. In partnership with Diego Villaseñor, Unidad Diseño won the competition for this touristic development masterplan.

Unidad Diseño designed two groups of summer villas: Villas Playa Quieta, located in the beach with the same name, and Villas Punta Ixtapa, in the Playa El Morro.

The starting point for both projects was to achieve harmony and balance between nature and architecture. In order to do this, we took the topography into account, virtually recreating the slopes that existed before the old Zihuatanejo road, thanks to the buildings’ gradual terracing.
