Jesús María Campus Masterplan

The Missionaries of the Holy Spirit have their retreat home near the city of San Luis Potosí. In 2007 they asked Unidad Diseño for a masterplan to revitalize the roads used for the annual pilgrimage around the church and the campus. The resulting design incorporated the pilgrims’ routes with other stopping points within the campus, such as: the watering hole, the pastoral ministry center, a Virgin Mary memorial, prayer areas, and crypts.

The existing buildings were renovated to house various uses: the Mezcal museum within the Mezcalera and the Pasera complex, the garden and retreat home. The masterplan also contemplates two areas for residential and mixed uses. The aim was to create a series of sustainable communities with the use of passive energy design, pedestrian areas, water re-use and environmental conservation.
