Tuxpan House

The Tuxpan house could also be called “Lacan House”, as every project meeting became a symbolic analysis session of each sketch line. Its owners, literary and psychoanalysis intellectuals, as well as their lovely daughters, set the brief:

…a pond to jump in and get wet…
…a peaceful library with beautiful views…
…a kitchen affording views out but protected from people looking in…
and a large labyrinth, to wander and ponder ideas, dreams and signs.

The project for the house, literary studio and Lacanian consulting room, was developed throughout endless meetings where every architectural concept was translated to phonemes and meanings.

Finally, the brief was resolved with a patio with a pond and a fountain, a monastic latticework and intertwined stairs. Its inhabitants have all the desired spaces, and we achieved an amazing sculpture and cherished friends.
